About posting, sign up problems on blog

Okay, I know many of you have had HUGE problems posting here. So here is what I figured out. I just signed up The Boss with his email address as a test.

You have to have a google account, and if you already have one, you can use your google user name (which is your email) and password. This email address won't appear in the blog, but the posting name you choose will.

I went to blogger.com. to sign up. What is confusing is that it says to "create a blog" and many don't want to have a blog, just comment. But if you click on this anyway, you will come to a screen where you can sign up for a google account if you don't already have one. After you fill in your email and select a name and password, etc. it will take you to a screen to "name your blog" and all that other jazz. I got frustrated, thinking this was the wrong thing to do, so I just clicked out of there, but doing the first part (signing up with the google account) was all that was needed. I got an email to verify, where they give you a link to activate your account and then when I went to post (under ritual topic) with the name I chose (braveheart) it worked!

Do I make sense? It sounds complicated, but it's not really. I guess you can also follow links on google.com to sign up as well. I think maybe certain email addresses aren't accepted, like free Internet based ones like hotmail. When you sign up for the google account you don't have to give name and address and all that, just email for verification.SO, once you do this, you will have a name and password to post!

Who said technology is making our life easier? LOL. Any problems or questions, email me at PetsSpeak@aol.com!

Hi Sandy, you are kind a right, it was a nightmare for myself. It took myself, my wife, three tech guys and a tech girl to get on the blog. We worked on it for more than an hour last night, but we did get it set up, and I was actually able to make a post. My post read “Test # 7.” What does that tell you?

My wife has been on the blog for some time now, but I could never get a confirmation e-mail. Go figure. We ended up doing a lot of what you have stated below, with a lot of trial and errors. Our solution was to set up an aol e-mail account and use that to register at google.

Hope to add some different insight to your blog soon.

Pam, I don't know what email account your friend uses, but I had trouble using an MSN email. The confirmation email from Google would not come through the junk mail filter (I'm guessing that is what happened, because it never came!!).

I ended up setting up an AOL email address, just to use to register with Google. The confirmation came through right away. That's why I think MSN was blocking it out. So, keep that in mind if she's having trouble getting that email back to activate her account.

Stacey,
I'll ask my friend how she was trying to get on here, she didn't say. She is e-mailing from out of town right now but I will find out. I disn't have any problems once I set up the blog account with my regular e-mail address and I have juno.
