Animal Observations

A break from the pet pictures today, but an animal question: Based on your personality and interests, what animal would you be if you were indeed an animal? What would your spouse be?

Above is a picture of Daisy, left, our Mother, and me, two years ago when they came for a visit. We are all big Pet People, as is the rest of my extended family. As you can see, even though I am four years older, I look much younger and wear a B cup. Daisy, however, is much thinner. I think I'd take the A and the thinness, right? What kind of animals would they be? Hmmmmm. I'll have to think on that one. Daisy would be some sort of animal that is pretty cool most of the time, but every so often strikes out like a snake. Mom, an animal that worries constantly about every little thing. Is there such an animal?

And we know Dragon will say he's a Dragon, but since that's not a real animal, he has to pick something else. A Peacock maybe? Always puffing up his feathers? :)

I'd probably be a wolf, the alpha wolf of course, because I like being in charge. Though I like pack activities, I also like being alone. I could never live in a huge city, because the steaming masses would drive me up a wall, as I am very impatient by nature. Wolves aren't impatient, but I can be patient when its called for, just like the wolf has to be patient on the hunt. I used to fish in the old days and despite my fidgety nature, was the most patient fisherman of all!

The Boss would be an animal that is quiet and doesn't like to socialize much. What kind of animal lives under a rock? Maybe one of those giant squid that lives deep in the sea that no one hardly ever sees. LOL. That's a bit extreme, he likes some socialization, just not big parties.

On a different note: did you ever notice you can't even take a you-know-what when you have multiple pets? They are either at your feet or are scratching at the door to get back in from the yard!

And a warning: They are selling things they call bird feeders at stores across the nation. However, they are really squirrel feeders, and I think I need to report false advertising somewhere!

Sandy, Sandy, Sandy..... You cut that picture a tad too short. Dragon will complain that he can just barely see Daisy's short shorts.

Sandy, you ask what animal your Mom would be, an animal that worries constantly about every little thing. Is there such an animal you ask?

She sounds like Peanut to me!!

Well lets see... My Totem sign is a bear, so I'd have to say bear. Bears are great to look at from a distance and generally want to be left alone. They are very protective and can turn on you in an instant. But they are also very loving and good providers for there young. They have excellent memories. I rarely forget things and if I do it's because I chose to. I also have a more care free attitude in that I don't stress over things and feel that most things work out the way they were ment to.

Hubbies totem sign is also a bear, but he's more shy and stresses easily. I would say he's more like a Moose. He wants to stand big and tall and feel like he has all the power, but is easily trapped by the female species. (like in the movie Brother Bear)

GREAT NEWS!!!!! Miss Tuttle, our rescued turtle from Virginia via Georgia, has arrived at her new home in Mt Juliet, TN!! Her new mommy, Tanya, just emailed me pictures and said "I love her already". I do LOVE a happy ending.

So, it would seem that Skeeter and the Saint are well on their way to town since they have made their turtle delivery already. Safe travels, guys.

Miss Stacey, let me get this straight. This is a Russian turtle that has come across the ocean and been living in Virginia, then in Georgia, and now it has come to Tennessee. I am thrilled and happy that the world traveler is now close to my home. It means I don't have far to go to have the delicacy of turtle soup.

Oops, I always start at the bottom and work my way to the top. I just saw where Miss Stacey mentioned about Daisylouu's short shorts. Yes, the quality of the photograph was not what you would call great. And, once I took a second look, yes, I agree--Daisy does have on some Daisy Duke shorts!! If only we could see more leg!

And speaking of Daisylouu's shorts, did you realize that you can actually buy "Daisy Duke" shorts on e-Bay? No, not ones she really wore, but new ones where you too can show off your long legs. If you have long legs. And other things that look good in short shorts.

It's time for the dogs to GET THE CAT. Here kitty, kitty, kitty....

Adrienne, how do you find out your totem sign? I've always had a huge interest in Native American stuff--I used to have so many decorations with Indian motiffs. I even have tattoos of an Indian, eagle and feather. I'd love to know what my sign is and what it means.

And Dragon, my neice took the picture. It runs in the family. Space over the heads, legs cut off. I, of course, being the wise one, take better photos. I'll have to browse my collection to see if I can find more of Daisy. :)

Oh, and Dragon, you forgot to answer the question about what kind of animal you'd be. I guess you're not an elephant, as they don't forget.

Hey Stacey, I thought of Peanut when I was thinking of what my Mom's animal would be, but I want to pick a species. :) A toad? They have warts and she's a worry wart.

If I was your mom, I don't think I would appreciate being compared to a toad! I'm still trying to decide what my animal would be. Sweetie says find out which one is a control freak, and that is me! I'm not sure what he means by that????

My letter made the paper today! I am really impressed that so far, there have been no negative comments at all printed. Even the Story Chat remarks have mostly been positive. There are the usual jerks that throw something ridiculous out there, but most of them admit this is a problem that has been over looked for too long.

Please, Pet People, if you have not yet contacted your county commissioner, DO IT BEFORE MONDAY!!! Let them know how you feel about the need for proper animal control here.

Also, the Humane Society asks that everyone please join them outside of the Montgomery Co. Courthouse (with leashed pets!) on Monday, May 14th between 5:45pm-7pm to show the Commissioners how important it is that they vote YES for new funding for the new Animal Control building! Let’s flood the courthouse lawn with supporters!!! Hope to see you there. Lucy and I will be there for sure!

Hi people.
I did get my letter sent to the commissioner, hope everyone else on here sent one to thiers too.

Hmmm, what kind of animal? I do think FLy Boy would be a bear too Adrienne as you described it fits him to a T! I'll have to think about it some more but right now I'say a cat because I can curl up on a lap and be sooo loving and cuddly and I love to be petted and rubbed on. I like attention when I'm in the moof for it and I love to waited on. I can also show one heck of a temper when something really gets to me but I usually get over whatever it is fast, yea I think Id be a cat.
Stacey, that was a great letter!
Adrienne, you mentioning the totem sign reminded me of the girl we used to sponsor through Save The Children. Her name was Corina and we sponsored her from the time she was 4 years old till she was 18. You aren't supposed to be able to have personal contact with the kids but we managed to get a name and address for her before they cracked down on that so we had a personal relatioship with her. We sent birthday and Christmas packages to her and she loved it. We got close to her but she stopped writing after she was 18 and we never knew why. We would love to know how she is now and how her life is going.

Hey News Fash everyone! About tomorrow night, Skeeter just called me and sent a message. They may not be able to get here as early as 6:00 but are planning to try thier best. She said whoever can wait around for them to get here please do. We will be waiting. Also we both think it is a good idea to have a head count if we can so we will know how many chairs to put at a table at Don Ponchos. If you all will please let me know and we get there first we can tell them about how many we think is coming. Even if you think you might be able to come let me know so we can have a tentavive count at least.
Dragon, you better bring your scaley a-- too!!!!!!!

So, Sandy, we are doing 6:00-ish, just for YOU! For those that can't come that early, just come when you can get there. I'm quite sure we will be there for several hours, since we have so much getting to know each other-ing to be done. Get there at 6 or get there at 7, or even at 8!! Just get there!!

Pam, there is a pretty good RSVP list going on another blog topic. Several are "maybes", but it should give you a pretty good idea for a head count. I'm probably a two. I'll try to get there around 6:00 myself, but not really sure with some things I have going on.

Hey y'all, the Saint got moms computer all hooked up and now gives me permission to to say a word or two while we wait on Big Daddy to finish watching a dumb bang em up shoot em up movie! then we will head out to Ky for the Graduation bit with an over night stay. Dang, this new keyboard sucks to type on.....

No doubt I would be a bird! I am a chatter box and never stop just as the birds in the trees! I sing with the radio in the car, in the house and according to the Saint, I never shup up! He calls me his Peeps. I asked if i could post his pet name for me and he said fine and mom said for me to make sure I post her nickname for me. I said squirrely and she said no, Mouth of the south! Arggggg...

I would say the Saint would be a cat. He is a couch potato which loves his sleep and quiet times. He does not like to be bothered as most cats seem to be...

No doubt about it my mom would be a wildcat! Dads nickname given to her due to her love for kittens. She loved kittens and cats so he dubed her his "kitten" until the day she set him straight in front of one of his freinds (back in High School)she has been the "Wildcat" ever sense!!!

Big Daddy would be the Hog of the family! His nickname from work given one day after a scuffle in the parking lot at work involving a mud hole... He has a pig collecion out of this world. Pigs adorn their house and I have mentioned his pet pig (plush toy) Farland before so Hog for dad....

Yep, we will depart KY on Saturday as soon as the family hub-bub subsides then we will be Panchos bound. Not sure the timing but we are shooting for 6:00 so we can meet up with Sandy on her break. We will stay as long as the group holds out so anyone can come join us for a few minutes or an hour or just what ever.. Man I hate this keyboard... I will not be wearing that blue top as posted earlier, Too hot in Tn and I was not expecting that and the top was long sleve. Forget that! Just check in with the hostess and ask for Pet People group....

Speaking of selling Daisy Duke shorts on Ebay, did y'all hear about the General Lee car selling for something like 10 million on e-bay??? i am not so sure it was worth that a i have seen them at Cooters in Gaitlinberg and at car museums in different places but after all this one did belong to John Schnider so maybe someone was going for the Famous person attachment... Okay, the movie is winding down, I need to get to the next post.... Ihate this keyboard...

Sandy, I have to look and see if I can find how I found my totem sign which is different than the Native American animal sign. You can find that by going to www.whats-your-sign.com. It based on your birthday just like the zodiak signs. If I go by that, my animal sign is an Owl. Either way both animals fit my personality.
