Fun & Games by Dragon

You know how the old saying goes: “Spring has sprung, Fall has fell, Summer is here, and it’s hot as Hell.” Well, my precious pet Smokey likes fun and games all year long, but the summer time is the most enjoyable for him. He has a multitude of games he enjoys to play. From picking up chicks at the local bar, to racquetball, to swimming, Smokey loves them all.

But like many a great man, most of all Smokey will play golf every chance he gets. Smokey says golf is a challenging sport with great satisfaction, or anger, depending on how his score is going. I have seen Smokey throw a club or two when he is having issues with his swing. I try to tell him, a good sharp pencil will shave more strokes off your score than a good putter. There is another old saying: “A bad day on the golf course is better than a good day at work.” Smokey says he enjoys the challenge, meeting different people, the exercise, and the fresh air of the great outdoors. Not to mention watching the little girly girl golfers in their short shorts playing the game.

Smokey also likes to watch golf on TV and enjoyed watching the British Open this past weekend. Sunday’s final round was most exciting. He wanted to tell poor Sergio that he is so sorry that he CHOKED at the end. Maybe next time. Congratulations to Padraig Harrington for winning the Open Championship and carrying the flag for our beloved Irish cousins. Maybe now we’ll find out if the Claret jug leaks when you put beer in it.

Smokey has been ice-skating before but is always worried that someone will fall on him. He thinks if some 190-lb. manly man falls on him while skating he will become imbedded in the ice and stuck there. Then when the Zamboni comes to scrape and clean the ice, he will be shredded to pieces. Well, I can see his fear when it comes to ice-skating. It’s one thing to ride on a Zamboni, but something else entirely to ride under it.

We have other pets that are content with chasing strings or their own tail. As you can imagine, chasing a string is not very exciting. The string will always get away. But, King Feline and Prince Not So Annoying try their best to catch it. Our oldest dog, King Arthritis, is happy and content just to make it outside to potty. The only female pet, Lady Turdhead, is not the brightest in the bunch. Not to say her gender and intelligence go hand in hand by any means. She is just a dumb dog. Her fun & games consists of a game of chase. She will either chase you, or you chase her. That’s it. Simple things for simple minds. She also likes to guard the yard from things that aren’t there. Guinevere has a cat, but I refuse to acknowledge its existence. His idea of fun & games is to play hide and seek. The cat hid first, and has never been found. In all the years I have known the @*&%$ cat, he’s still hiding. Can we say psycho cat??

So, what about the rest of you Pet Fanatics? Do your pets have favorite fun & games they love to play? And, do any of them enjoy golf? Smokey is always looking for a new playing partner. But, I warn you, he is a bit of a sore loser.

Dragon, Dragon, brother of mine, I cannot say I am surprised that you fine it amusing to tie strings around the cats tails to chase. I hope you don't tie them too tight and slo that you always watch them so they can't eat them. Remember what that can do to a cats intestines!!!!
As far as fun stuff for my girls, one of thier favorite is to scratch the carpet on the stairs, that is ever so much fun! Lately they ahve been playing witha old toy they ahve newly discovered. I hide some after they get bored but then they are llike new again after a few months. My girls get bored quickly with everything except scratching the carpet, that never gets old. Penelope loves to run back and forth o ntop of the kitchen cabinets way up hight. Scares me silly but I can't stop her. I yell at her but she just kind of laughs at me and does it again. There are lots of other things they each like to do but tell you about that later since I need to get off the computer.

Now just what does Smoky need a sword for? I notice one in his bag of toys. I am guessing to slay any other Dragons which cross your paths....???.... Inquiring minds want to know....

Come on now Dragon, does Smoky really like going to Hooters or is that more daddy’s choice of entertainment??? Smoky does look mighty happy in the picture though… I didn’t see Dragon in the picture! Ha ha, we know who wins with that team. Smoky says Owls rule, Dragons drool…

My girls have tons of games they play. I personally love it when they play Tag together. They chase each other all over the house, up and down the stairs. It is really fun when they turn the corner of the tile floor on the way up the stairs! They also like to play smack down with the fuzzy mice. They play stare down with each other also. The first one to look away during a stare down, gets a quick smack or bite on the face, before it is over, they usually end up in a full wrestling match! Sheba has her special games such as the Water Faucet game and Lets wake up daddy and sit on his back game. I have about broken her of that little game though. Mean ole mommy! Cheetah likes to play hide and don’t seek me when we have company.

Leave it to a man to get a Hooters picture in, especially when I just saw Kira Knightley on TV (Pirates of the Carribean) She's from the UK voted sexiest woman, but in America they won't let her on a magazine cover because she doesn't have a C-cup or above (American rules). She's practically flat-chested and they had to computer generate boobs on her for the movie poster in the US. God bless America.

This girl in her daisy dukes was all alone on Sunday and yes, she watched the British Open. Tiger in his Sunday red was not the center of attention. While watching, my old cat, Sassy, was spinning circles trying to catch that tail. It's her favorite and only game she plays. I have a friend whose cat carries around toys and plays and fetches like a dog. I've never seen anything like it.

I'll share the games I like to play when we're in the hottub.

Well, well, well...... I see now that all of Dragon's dirty little secrets are coming out here on the blog. I thought you told me all you did was WORK on that 3 day trip to Murfreesboro!!! "They made us slave hard all day," you said. "All I could do was go back to the hotel and crash, then get up and go back to work," you said. Well, somehow I don't think Smokey drove himself to Hooter's or took his own picture, now did he?? And don't you dare try to blame that poor innocent Smokey for YOUR bad behavior. He tries so hard to keep you out of trouble, and all you can do is corrupt him.

Hmph! Maybe your little Daisylouu has a place for you to sleep tonight! I'm sure you can fly to Pennsylvania in no time.

Just saw this on Fox Sports and wanted to let you all know the latest. Keep writing those letters and emails to be sure it doesn't stop here. Our voices are being heard. It is working. Let's start planning now, in case he does come to Nashville for the game in October against the Titans. We should organize our protest early, so we can make sure this sick SOB knows that he is not welcome here.

"Goodell orders Vick to skip Falcons camp"

The first of what could be a handful of actions taken against Michael Vick by the commissioner's office has been decided.

Commissioner Roger Goodell has ordered the Atlanta Falcons quarterback not to attend the team's training camp as his first step in determining Vick's future in the league. That would give the league office more time to assess the facts and judge additional facts that may come to light in the next month.

"While it is for the criminal justice system to determine your guilt or innocence, it is my responsibility as commissioner of the National Football League to determine whether your conduct, even if not criminal, nonetheless violated league policies, including the Personal Conduct Policy," Goodell said in a letter to the quarterback.

The NFL said Vick would still get his preseason pay and Goodell told the Falcons to withhold any disciplinary action of their own until the league's review was completed.

This is just the first part of what could be an extensive punishment for Vick's alleged involvement in a gruesome dogfighting operation.

There could also be a strong push to sit Vick down for the year while he clears up his personal problems. In fact, this action could even convince Vick to take a year-long leave of absence, which would certainly be the simplest resolution for all parties.

Meanwhile, Falcons owner Arthur Blank issued a statement Thursday, saying the organization is "working diligently on exploring our options."

"This is an emotionally charged and complicated matter," Blank said. "There are a wide range of interests and legal issues that need to be carefully considered as we move ahead, including our need to respect the due process that Michael is entitled to. Also, this situation affects everyone — our club, our players and associates, our sponsors, our fans and the Atlanta community among them — so we must consider all of our customers in making any decisions.

"Given the differing perspectives and strong feelings around this issue, we probably won't make everyone happy, but we are committed to doing the right thing. As the owner of this club that's, ultimately, my responsibility."

Blank added that he was "saddened and distressed about this — not for myself, for our fans and community who have been so loyal to us."

Earlier Monday, animal-rights advocates and their dogs gathered outside Falcons headquarters, calling for a suspension of Vick.

About four dozen people took part in the protest organized by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. They held signs reading "Kick Vick," "Tackle Cruelty" and "Sack Vick!"

Dragon, Thank you for posting this for all to read. I know there are many people who tune in to our blog just to see what crazy stuff we are talking about next but this is such a important issue, we need as many to see it as possible! Hopefully a lot of people will see it then write to all concerned then something will be done with this less than human being who is enjoying all of his fame and riches. He is one of those who enjoy all those benefits and thinks he can get away with anything and everything he does just becaue he is a big star!

P.S. Just accidently sent my comment before I meant to say how Vick is just a sorry piece of flesh and bones. Only with his sincere confession of sorrow for what he has done to these poor defensless animals will God make him into anything worth being a member of society. Even with that it will be hard for any animal lovers to accept him. It's a good thing God commands us to be forgiving cause it can be hard!

I am BACK! I was off for three days (I almost showed up for work yesterday thinking I was working). This week I get only one day off, because I'm transitioning to new days off in August. So, I apologize for my absence.

And Skeeter, I LOVE your posts--and Stacey's and Adrienne's and YES, even Dragon Boy's! I couldn't do it without you!

I LOVE the turtles! I stop in the road for them. This drove my Mom nuts when she was visiting, because she is the biggest worry wart. IT's not like I'd stop on a blind curve to move a turtle, but she freaks out any way.

I've never seen a tiny turtle like that in the wild. But I'm sure that's because if one came in my yard Scooter would eat it!

Adrienne fell for all the Potter Hoopla! Please tell us you did not stand in line over night to get the first copy at the bookstore! Enjoy your reading...

Today’s news is reporting that Vick the Ick was suspended for the first 4 games and maybe worse to come depending on the outcome on Thursday. I read an Editorial in our paper today written by the head of PETA in VA. It was brutal what they did to those dogs! They would tie the females up in mating position and force them to breed with the males! This is a form of rape in my book! It even gets worse but I will not repeat the ugly as it will only depress y’all as it did me! I can hardly wait for his trial on Thursday! I hope more ugly comes out and they fry his backwoods gansta wannabe butt!

Stacey, mom called me from Gatlinburg tonight. She enquired about Pet People and I told her about the lack of posting. She said to tell you that no one is posting because they are all in Gatlinburg! They overheard two Trolley drivers saying they had a Record 21,000 people at Dollywood on Sunday! Whoa... Mom, dad and Farland (pig) are there to watch my niece play in a softball tournament. 150 teams are in town and wall to wall people! Again, whoa….

I'm here!!! I've been posting on the "letters to the Editor" forums. I can't believe how ignornant some people can be.

As for stuffed animals and turtles.... well... "if you don't have something nice to say about something, don't say anything at all"

I have never understood the attraction of reptiles or fish. They are not snuggable (at least in my opinion) or emotive. And I outgrew stuffed animals a LONG time ago.

I think my feelings about Vick have been expressed by others adequately.

Anyway, I check the posts several times a day and respond when moved to. Also am reading Harry Potter and playing World of Warcraft online. Plus, my TiVO is getting full... so much to do and so little time!

Okay, Alice, as long as you are well. I just get so used to seeing the same familiar faces (well, you know what I mean) here on the blog, when they disappear for a few days, I wonder where they went.

Just checking on you!!!!

I only occasionally read the Story Chat now. It just pisses me off too much, so I just ignore them. For the most part, it is an exclusive club, and if you don't agree with them, your opinion is not valid. So, I rarely waste my time.

Man Stacey, after hearing that I'm more glad than ever that I have never checked out the story chat.
I've just had a lot of pain lately so not felt like getting on the blog but I'll try to do better. Plus we were out of town Sat. and most of Sunday.
I only hope Vick gets the book thrown at him and goes to prison. I hope that he gets a big bad animal loving person who decides he will be his girlfriend along with many other animal lovers who want to show him a little of what he did to those poor defensless dogs! Ok, showing my mena side here butr I am still hurting so much for those sweet animals that he tortured and killded. God please forgive me for the awful things I am wishing on this low life human.
Skeeter, Stacey, I love when you guys post, you're doing a great job, please keep it up!

Ok, just read what I wrote and I again managed to butcher it with typo's, please whenever you see me do that just read it best as you can and take what I say and not worry about the spelling. I actually do know how to spell ( most of the time ) but I tend to type too fast and I'm not that good at typing. I do want to get my points across.

In the local GA news today, the stores are removing Vicks stuff off the shelves! Stuff has stopped selling! Some say they will send it back if possible and some say they will take a loss and have a fire with the stuff before they sell it... I was afraid that football would rule over the animals but it seems, the people have spoken in GA… Hip-hip hurray!!!

Skeeter, it is obvious why Smokey needs a sword in his golf bag. He's a cute, loveable, huggable, snuggable creature (like myself), that needs protection against all you sex crazed wenches. Ahhhhh....I remember the days.

Yes, Smokey and I ARE too busy slobbering at Hooters. Guinevere is gone quite often, so I frequent the establishment quite a bit. And each time I get a different girly girl waitress, I convince her it is my birthday. That way they give me the royal birthday treatment. They make me stand on a stool while they surround me (down below) and sing Happy Birthday. What a view. Got to be careful though. One waitress is catching on. She asked me wasn't it just my birthday last week. I tell her it sure was, and I plan on having at least five more birthdays before the end of the year. God, I love it up there!
