OUTRAGE.Vick apologists deserve condemnation!

I wasn't planning on posting any more about Vick--until maybe when he gets sentenced. But I am SO outraged at a story I read tonight at work.

The Atlanta NAACP said that Vick should be allowed back in the NFL after he does his time. They feel his co-defendants were COERCED into ratting on him. They feel, therefore they think its fact. The FACT is that it is common in any case when multiple criminals are involved to tell them that if they cooperate and name the bigger fish (like the bank roller and owner of property) that they will get lighter punishment. THAT is the legal system.

They also went on about how everyone deserves a second chance and that people reacted worse over dogs than if he had KILLED someone. Trying to change the subject and compare apples to oranges.

I am so sick when the subject is CHANGED and taken away from the brutality of what he was involved in and the fact that it was a FELONY!

But think of Don Imus. He uttered three words that offended, and rightly so. Did the NAACP say that HE learned his lesson and HE deserved a second chance? NO. He got banned. He lost his show, his job, his income and support for his ranch for kids with cancer.

Look what happened to Bill Mahr too. He said the 911 terrorists weren't cowards and lost his show in the uproar. HE didn't say they were HEROES, he simply pointed out that their act might have been crazy and deranged, but it wasn't cowardly.

Yet VICK, who is a felon, tortured dogs, committed vile acts and was involved in dogfighting is treated like he was some poor VICTIM?

I urge you all to write to the NFL, Falcons and anyone else you can think of and share your outrage over the NAACPs double standard.

There, I vented and I feel somewhat better. But we animal lovers can't let the subject be changed from what it should be: the exploitation, abuse and torture of innocent creatures for perverts who get pleasure out of pain.

Vick deserves NO sympathy from anyone, PERIOD. I am posting again the photo of one of Vick's victims. A real VICTIM, not a spoiled, depraved millionaire who should never play football again.

Giving a second chance is not only about forgiveness on our part, it's about his REALIZATION that what he did was WRONG. Does Vick really feel deep in his heart that what he did was wrong? Can you change this man's heart? Nope! He doesn't have one.

Jail won't rehabilitate him, but he should simply be locked away from society. When he gets out (and he will quickly) he will still have the mindset that its FUN and ENTERTAINMENT to torture animals.

The dogfighting is horrendous, the subsequent torture of dogs he felt were weak is unforgivable and tells you what kind of moral person he is, and on that FACT alone he should not be allowed the priviledge of playing in the NFL.

What upsets me is that on the news, his defenders are trying to say things like "people kill deer and other animals for food." As IF that is a comparision? Do hunters and people who kill animals to feed society use other animals as bait to train cow and deer to become vicious killers? Do they prolong death as they use the animals for entertainment? Do they bet on such things?

There was some other football player defending him saying, "They (whoever that is) built him up and now they are tearing him down." The dogs were the only ones being teared down.

And he said in some segments of society its a "sport." Can you imagine? Then there is what happened to losing dogs. IF they didn't want them to fight, they could have euthanized them with a needle--or even a bullet. But no. Torture. And torture to make them meaner so they would fight.

How any defender could use such lame analogies is beyond me.

And I feel the same way about bullfighting. I just read that Spanish TV will no longer televise the fights --or was it the running of the bulls--same difference, as its too disturbing for children. Some were upset because bullfightintg is part of their "culture." Well, a lot of brutal things used to be part of people's culture--sacraficing virgins in volcanoes--for example. What a stupid excuse. And I feel no sorry for anyone killed in the running of the bulls OR bullfighting. They asked for it.

It even bothers me that hunting is considered a "sport." Its many things, but it is not a SPORT.

I am really uspset that the issue is being watered down by some. And that the NFL considers the gambling part worse than the dogfighting part and could more easily ban him over that. To me, the gambling is MINOR. I can see them feeling that way about REAL sports gambling, but this has nothing to do with the game Vick played.

That some people aren't bothered by the sadism involved in getting pleasure from the blood, pain and torture of innocent animals and instead want to pity him makes me SICK.

And alot of people won't debate things when it comes to race, because they are afraid of being called racist if you don't agree with the NAACP. One thing I like about James Horne, we might disagree, but I can talk to him about the issue, race issues and all. I appreciate that.

Is Vick really sorry that he did this act??? OR Is he sorry he was caught??? That is the question I ask myself on this matter...

And as far as the NAACP goes, well, I don’t have much use for them these days! I am sorry, this may sound harsh or racist but I am only calling it as I am lately seeing it in my mind! The NAACP continually takes from the depressed Minority community and give back very little in support of them! Here they are speaking up for a man with millions of dollars that can hire any legal team while other poor Minorities are living in squander due to lack of education, jobs, violence, etc. Why don’t groups like the NAACP go where they are truly needed and be a voice for those which don’t have the big bucks and stay out of such matters as Vicks! Vick is a big boy and can take care of himself...

I AM IN CLARKSVILLE Y'ALL....

The trip through Atlanta was a breeze but the construction north of Marietta, GA and then again in Murfreesboro, TN was not go great! Arggg, but we are here and ready for the Friday Evening Madison Jamboree! I think with all the Vick mess, it is time we have a cold one and try to forget him for one night. Or maybe we can come up with some great ways of taking care of him ourselves after a few cold ones! LOL, I still love the meat thong and ring of dog’s idea! Who had that idea, Dragon???

Hi to all you pet lovers from "me" pet lover. Look out ya'll - this southern born-southern bred gal is going to join in the pet talk from time to time.

Now - Mr (and I use MR facetiously) Vick: I vote with those who want to cover certain sensitive area(s) of his body with a yummy dog food and throw him in a "pit" full of his well trained pups. He doesn't deserve to belong to the human race - just my opinion.

Hello Kitten and yes, Welcome to the world of Pet People. We are a certain breed of animal nuts but we are still good people. You should join us on schnitzel night tomorrow at the VFW! I am in town only for a few days and would love to meet you along with the others that have joined in on the conversation since I was last here way back in May! The more, the merrier!

Hey Brett, my talking time was pretty much taken up with a quick (over an hour) chat with Pam. She did all the talking and I could not get a word in at all. Now if you believe that, I have some Ice land in Arizona for sale... Are you sure you are ready for the Gab fest Friday at the house??? ha ha... You can call me if you like. I am going to be out and about after 7:00 tonight so you can reach me at my parents before then… I think I gave you their number…. I can call you after we get back in but what is the latest we can call tonight???

Well Hello Kitten! Greeting and Salutation from all the Pet Fanatics, and the Fire Breathing Dragon. I am no fanatic. I am a mere kind-hearted dragon who cares for his varmints. I’m the one who feeds and cares for them. Cleans the litter pan, and gives the puppies there bath. Sometimes I even give the cats a bath. The one who rubs their poor little heads when they are not up to par. Wifey-pooh likes to claim all the good deeds, but it is I, I must confess, that gets all of the chore duties. Kitten, oh what a lovely name it is. I’m glad you are a southern born-southern bred gal. We do have a transplanted Yankee on the blog, but that’s another story. Southern gals rule! I’ll tell you now you may have to ignore me from time to time. I like to bring a little humor into the blog, and I’m harmless. Wifey-pooh sees to that.

I agree with you whole heartily that Mr. Vick doesn't deserve to belong to the human race. In fact, any so called person who would do such a thing is not human at all. I have greater respect for Pond Scum. (For you northern people. Pond Scum is that smelly green slug goo that floats on top of ponds in summer time.)

Welcome to Clarksville Skeeter. I hope you remember to bring that pecan pie. I would hate for you to go home and get.
Yes Skeeter, it was I who suggested the meat thong and ring of dog’s idea! And I stand behind it 100%.

Miss Stacey, you said “We are a little crazy”. I disagree with that statement. I would say ya’ll are lot crazy. But we could debate that forever.

Sandy, Yes. Oh my gosh, I just agreed with Sandy. It is standard practice when you have Blood on your hands, to change the subject. Mr. Vick has blood on his hands, or should I say Blood all over him. Blood all over his money, and Blood all over his compound. So all they can be do is change the subject, and make comparisons that don’t fit. Sorry I get carried away. It’s just d*** despicable.

Hi ya'll,

I am finding that I just can't keep up with ya'll of late. Sorry, I hate to miss out on good talk. The ballfield seems to be our home of late.

Welcome kitten, its good to have you here! I agree with the previous statement of the more the merrier.

Skeeter!!! I am glad you are here and had a safe trip.

I don't think I can even comment on the vick sh*t. I am too angry. Between the NAACP moron and the other stupid over-paid athlete who is spouting off nonsense, I can barely watch the news without blowing a gasket. I will just say ditto to everything above.

I am just checking email tonight for the first time in days. My daughter left for her and her husbands drive to AZ(Ft huachucha..did I spell that right?) and then hubby left. Busy, busy. Anyways, anyone have any info on the boxer that the HS emailed about? I thought I would call tomorrow after they open but I would love to hear any update that anyone has.

Okay guys, so far I have a head count of around 11 people for the VFW (Skeeter and clan, Pam and Flyboy, Sandy and the Boss, Dragon, B (maybe), and me. If anyone else knows for sure they are coming, please email Skeeter or post here! This is my last day at work, so I won't be online much today at all. I will check the blog when I get home. Skeeter will probably get to the VFW first and will try to corral us seating arrangements close to the stage away from the bar area. If you want to all sit together, we need to let her know how many others will be coming. But, if you decide at the last minute to come, please just show up!!!!!! The more the merrier for us Pet People!

Looking forward to tonight!!!!!!!

I just saw a news breif that said that Vick will not be pleading guilty to animal cruilty, but only to instate commerce charges. Everyday he is getting away with more.

Blogger Sandy said...

I don't think the original indictiments cited animal cruelty, because it was on the federal level and had to do with the interstate commerce and federal laws against dog fighting. I heard that state prosecutors are the ones who could/will be filing the cruelty charges in a separate case. I think cruelty laws/charges always fall under state, not federal.

Welcome Kitten! I think you will enjoy being a part of our pet loving group. If you've been reading long then you see the fun we have together. We can get a little rowdy sometimes but it's all good. I just saw where you logged on since I didn't get on here yesterday, was too busy cleaning my house before Skeeter and The Saint came over.

By the way for all who didn't join us last night, you missed a greet party! And I bet I'm the only one who was up and out of bed bright and early this morning. I mean I didn't get to bed till 3:30 a.m. I bet the rest of you are a bunch of wuses aren't you?

On Vick, not only do I want to do what Dragon suggested with the meat thong but after putting that on him he needs to be tied to the back of a truck and drug on his belly for awhile then have more meat reappled then let the dogs back at him again. Showing no mercy!

Pam, we were in bed at 4:00 (I am indeed impressed at your longevity, we showed that birthday girl Stacey how to party didn’t we???) this morning and I was up at 6:00 to get rid of some of that Colorado Bull dog! Then back to bed for me.... Then up and at em' at 9:00. Brunch at Silka's (Yum) and now to the ball field to watch niece play. Oh, I can hardly wait to get out in the heat! Y'all may have found my milky drink strange, but honey, no hang over for me today and Vodka bottle was mighty low! Farland tried to eat Big Daddy’s pecan pie slice and he is still guarding it with fork in hand!!!

Brett and Jeremy, you have some beautiful furry babies and I was so glad to finally meet them. I enjoyed my free pedicure from Hines. Is Charlie blowing bubble gum out his a$$ this morning? Or was that Lucy??? And I am still trying to figure out what "Corn Teeth" are Jeremy...????.... Wish I could stay here long enough to get y’all a Fence Raising organized!

Sandy, I gained so much respect with you and your lady like manners last night, you are becoming such a Southern lady! You kept us fowl mouth wenches in line and I thank you for that!

Shannon, so glad you stopped by for a minute with daughter! She is adorable and I will probably see y’all at the ball field in a few minutes.

Pam, you and fly boy need to see if you can have a donkey in Savannah West, you need you a donkey girl....

Dragon did you dream of a wench kissing your forehead as you dozed on the couch in front of the TV while guarding the Family jewels??? Cant wait to Post that picture... Tee hee....

Oh, y'all absent Pet People missed one fun time last night... I will hold many memories in the mind and can hardly wait for the Daisylouu meeting in Nov. I wish I could get back for Halloween but if we don’t get to the Saints family in VA soon, they may write us out of the will! LOL...

Adrienne, I will try to get a post and some pics as soon as possible. I had only about 4 hours of sleep then spent way too much time in the hot TN sun watching softball so my brain is pretty much fried for the day. I cannot believe it is almost 10:00 and I am still going strong but the eyes are really feeling heavy so, I think the day is about over for me. Tomorrow, the Saint will drive and I will snooze the entire way to Atlanta where we will meet up with our friends for dinner then 2 more hours home to the girls! Even though I have had my parents 3 cats, Pams 3 cats, B and Jeremys 3 dogs and cat, nephew's dog and cat to keep me filled with purrs, kisses and furry lovings, I miss my babies terribley so will be glad to be back home with my babies. Not one cat in bed with us the past 3 nights! It just aint right!!!
