Crazy Pet Photo Contest! Vote Now!

Okay, today was the first day I went to look at the photos that were entered in the Humane Society's Mr. & Mrs. Wags to Witches photo contest. And what I found was CRAZY funny! I've posted two of my favorites here, one dog and one cat, to illustrate the kinds of photos you'll see on the Humane Society Web site at: www.clarksvillehumanesociety.org. You MUST go check it out!

This is an e-mail I got about the contest--their most successful photo contest ever:

"Our Wags to Witches Pet Photo Contest received 78 entries (47 Misters & 31 Misses) this year, which is by far our most competitive pet photo contest to date! All pet photos have been placed on our website, and each has a corresponding PayPal link under the photo for easy voting. The 5 Misters & 5 Misses collecting the most votes by Noon this coming Wed Oct 10 will get their photos & biographies published in The Leaf Chronicle & move on to our finalist voting round. Only the top 10 photos will remain on the website for voting, which will continue through Fri. Oct. 19.

"Don't delay! Visit our website and vote for YOUR favorite Mister & Miss (good luck choosing amongst all of the adorable photos, including a donkey for all of you equine fans!!!)... then email everyone you know & encourage them to vote for their favorite photos, too... and don't forget to mention the GREAT cause this contest supports!"

The top winners will be announced at the Wags to Witches Fur Ball Bash Oct. 20.

I know many of you entered a photo in the contest, so good luck! I won't be telling you who I voted for, but I will say it was tough to decide, as they are all wonderful and really showcase the joy and love pets bring to our lives. I wonder what those dressed in costume think of we humans when we dress them up and take their picture? Heck, they love us so they go along with our insanity!

The two photos above crack me up. That cat! It's hilarious! And the little Chihuahua--the look on his face is priceless. So get over to the Humane Society Web site and check them out--and vote! All the money goes to an organization that really helps not only animals, but people too!

Foul, I say! Foul, foul, foul!! If we are going to post pictures from the Wags to Witches photo contest, EACH candidate must have equal time. It is quite obvious that the voting public is easily influenced by that which is in front of them. Your comments about these pictures really cracking you up contributes to the subliminal message “VOTE FOR ME”. Sandy, how much did these pet owners offer you to shamelessly hawk their photos over equally deserving photos you did not choose to feature???? Here I thought the Leaf Chronicle was an unbiased newspaper, but now I see it is just another tool of FOX. Tsk, tsk, tsk……..

Foul, I say! I cannot stress this strongly enough. Where is the equal billing for ALL of the candidates??? Sandy, early voting ends on Wednesday, so you’d better start posting those pictures right now to even hope to get them all up before the deadline. We don’t want an investigation by the Election Commission, now do we??

I hope each and all candidates will have the opportunity to have their glorious photographs splattered all over the blogs. This one sided journalism must stop NOW!! I call for each and all candidates to write Sandy Britt, screaming that this unfair, biased so-called journalism must stop NOW! There are more than two candidates in this race. Does it all boil down to cold hard cash?? The poor candidates with limited financial resources that put themselves out there on nothing more than their own merit, never get published. They put themselves on the line, just to be tossed to the side. Just because they didn’t tickle the right person’s funny bone. Woe is me…..

Speaking for myself, I spent DAYS seeking the perfect lighting to accentuate my candidate’s naturally fierce, yet handsome, features. Just to be tossed to the side because he’s not wearing a silly a$$ little costume!!! Pam, Pam—WHERE IS MY SISTER HERE??? Where is the familial loyalty??

Please take note that my concern here is for ALL the neglected candidates. Not once have I mentioned my candidate my name. Not once have I cried out “VOTE FOR PUNKIN”, “VOTE FOR PUNKIN”, “VOTE FOR PUNKIN”. And I will not do so now. Please remember that my candidate is for education, supports the troops, and is in favor of lower taxes, but he did not get mentioned one single time. Welcome to the world of Fox News.

I think I must agree with Dragon here Sandy. I thinks me smells something stinky here.. You better make good because after all, he did not say "VOTE FOR PUNKIN" did he??? I did not know until now that costumes were not mandated or I would have entered my babies pics. My girls would not sit still long enough to have me put some silly costume on them! Gee if only I had known… duh on my part for not researching but I did cast some votes tonight… Go kitties go!

I agree with Skeeter--My babies would have been perfect for this if I hadn't felt I had to straddle costumes on them. Can you imaigne trying to strap a hat on Hines? LOL

Guess you people need to learn how to READ, huh??? The contest rules plainly stated that no costumes were required. Tsk, tsk.....

Yes Stacy, no costumes required and why I picked one in costume and one not in costume, one dog and one cat, just to illustrate ALL the great photos that were entered.

Dragon is such a big baby. If he wants his precious to win, he can cough up the bucks and vote himself with his wallet.

I think in any costume, crazy, costumed and unusual always win, but who knows? The point is to raise money for the Humane Society, not worship Dragon's pets. LOL.

Dragon is a good campaigner and maybe should run for office himself. Maybe County Commission? All his wenches will work on his campaign, and some of us have great campaign experience!

Sandy, you just don’t get it. Even in your own words, “To illustrate ALL the great photos that were entered.”

”To illustrate ALL the great photos that were entered??”

Well then, why not illustrate ALL the great photos that were entered? ? ? ? ? ?

Give all the contestants a fair and EQUAL chance to be seen. Not just promote the ones you liked. That is not fair for poor ROCCO SEGOVIA in his Superman outfit, or MONTE JAMES in his Devil get up, or ZACK CAYCE, or SULLY KING in the Patrol car. Oh, I wonder why he is in the Patrol car? I’m sure it was just a photo op. Surely SULLY hasn’t been bad. Or even TROOPER ATKINSON. I wonder if the TROOPER put poor little SULLY in the patrol car?? We don’t want to go there now.

I won’t tell you the big sob story of Punkin and how his own mother wouldn’t have anything do with him. Or how the first humans he stayed with tossed him out in the cold. To be abandoned a second time. And how through his tough beginnings, he kept his faith and overcame adversity. Or how he allowed a Dragon to help raise him. I won’t tell you how he put himself though Kitty School to become an outstanding member of the community. And I won’t tell you of his high goal he has set for himself. Punkin knows he needs somewhere to start to achieve his ambitions. He needs some positive reinforcement from those outside his immediate family. He has the ability to be a great leader that our proud community needs. Just to be shot down because Sandy just didn’t want to show his picture on the blog.

How many other Punkins are out there??? All they want from life is to given a fair chance!! But Sandy, who has the means to show their lovely faces on the blog, and to give each and all a fair shake at greatness. Does she?? NO, Sandy is just mean. Only the ones she likes gets promoted.

And Sandy, You didn’t even acknowledge the Frogs. What is it, do you have something against Frogs?? Frogs have mothers, too.

Sandy, why can’t the Leaf Chronicle set aside one page of their precious paper and print all of the contestants?

What better way to help raise money for the Humane Society?

Sandy, about this running for office thing. I don’t think little ole Clarksville is quite ready for me to assume the role of World Dicktater. I appreciate your kind thoughts and your willingness to work hard for me. I will always remember the little people.

Sorry to disappoint the dragon, but I can't upload 70 plus photos here. The top five girls and boys will be in the paper in Living. Stacy Segovia is doing a story about the finalists.

And I couldn't show Punkin because then I'd be favoring Pet People photos. I purposely didn't do that so as not to show favoritism to our pack.

So dry your dragon tears and vote for Punkin with your wallet

Oh, Skeeter, that was a typo on my part. Like my younger sister Pam, I was in a rush and didn't use my spell check. I spell alot of words like they sound, which usually isn't right. But, thanks for bringing that to my attention. It does kinda fit me, doesn't it??

Dragon, dear brother of mine, did you not get my e-mail telling you that I voted for Punkin? I most certainly did vote for him so don't you dare rag on me now. Also I will be a good and loving sister and NOT tell people what four letter word you add to poor little Punkin's name all the time either! I am happy to hear you speak up so strongly for the little guy and show how you really feel about him, it warms my heart!I love it when you show your softer side rare as it is!

So is Punkin King Feline Evil Demon Devil Cat or Prince not so annoying??? Either way, his yellow “Skeeter look” got him some votes from me also…. Now don’t go nuts on me Alice, your baby got some votes from me also…. Now Stacey, I only had so much to donate and the cats won out over the doggies this time. But your Lucy is beautiful and will get some votes on the next benefit… The money all goes to the same cause in the end so don’t get miffed at me…. I am still shocked as to how generous the community has been with this contest…

Skeeter, Punkin is Prince Not So Annoying. That picture just mesmerized me. Dragon has it as his background on the computer and everytime it pops up, it just makes me stare into those BIG beautiful eyes.

And, yes, I too have been taken aback by the money spent on the votes so far. WOW!

Skeeter, no worries about not voting for Lucy cause I voted for her. I got everybody covered on here as far as I know. IIt kind of canceled each one out but at least it helped all the sweet animals at The Humane Society.

Skeeter, that is my story and I am sticking to it. Thanks for your support for Prince Not So Annoying.

Pam, Yes, I did get your e-mail And Punkin Thanks you form the bottom of his little second-class heart. He is most appreciative of your financial contributions in this noble cause. I was seeking help trying to get my Precious Pet Punkin Pretty Picture Presented on the one sided blog. I am happy for the ones who made it to the final five. And did you notice the one Sandy promoted is in the finals. Some times I like to give Fox News Sandy a hard time. I did think the voting was going to last longer than it did. I had lined up some last minutes votes for Punkin. But they never got the chance. I have made a request for them to vote for one of the Final Five. They said they would. I was amazed at the amount of funds was raised.
I am a little lost on the four-letter word and Punkin. I don’t know what you’re taking about. That’s my story and I’m sticking with it.
Oh Pam, I HAVE NO SOFT SIDE. Please don’t spread rumors about the Fire Breathing dragon.

Blogger Pam said...

Yea, sure , right Dragon, I got ya, no soft side whatsoever, don't know what I was thinking to say that especially here where people will read it. I retract that statement completely!!!!!!!!!
I am sorry that Punkin didn't win, too bad your last minutes voters were too late. Maybe next year they will extend the voting time and Punkin can enter again.
