Stealing a topic: HOW TO POST

A discussion came up about how to post comments to the blog. It's been a long time since I posted about that, but Stacey, who now does the new Veterans Voice blog,posted instructions there. So, I figured I post them here for those of you who've had trouble. Thank you Stacey! Here they are:

"For those STORY CHAT folks that are interested in commenting here: No, it isn't the same system you use to post there, so you cannot use that registration or log-in for the blogs. The Leaf Chronicle uses BLOGGER to administrate their online blogs, so all registration has to go through BLOGGER or GOOGLE. Either one will work. I used GOOGLE to register, so that is what I will cover for you here.

"To comment on the blog, you have to get a GOOGLE sign-in, which is really very easy. You go to Google.com. In the top right hand corner of the home page, there should be a link that says SIGN-IN. You click it and it will take you to the sign-in page. Underneath the sign-in area is a link that says CREATE AN ACCOUNT NOW. Just click there and it will walk you through registering.

"It doesn't require you to use (or get) a GOOGLE email address. You can just register with your normal email address. However, if you don't want to use your regular email account, you can create one just to use to register. But, you will get a confirmation email from GOOGLE verifying your registration. So, you will need to access that created email account to complete the registration.

"Depending on your spam filter on your regular email account, you may have trouble getting that confirmation email. Sweetie had that problem. His MSN email would not allow the message from GOOGLE to come through. So, we set up an AOL email account for him to use to register. AOL allowed the confirmation message to come through with no problem. So that is what he uses to sign in on the blog.

"The only thing I ever use my GOOGLE sign-in for is the blog. Once you create the sign-in, you will never have to go through GOOGLE's site again. You just have to use that sign-in on the blog comment area. When you create the GOOGLE sign-in, you will have the chance to give yourself a SCREEN NAME. Mine is Stacey (imagine that). You can use anything you want, as long as it isn't obscene or offensive. The SCREEN NAME is what will show up on your blog comment. The email address you use to sign in will not be visible, only the SCREEN NAME."

So any new Pet People who want to join our craziness, please do so!

The confusing part for us was....
The USERNAME is not your pen name. My pen name is Skeeter and that is not my real name. Username will be your email addressed used to activate the Google Account. So if you want to post a comment;

"Username" is your email address
"Password" is indeed your password
