Dragon Claws Did It!!!

Well, I did it, and I survived. Dragon Claws has come and gone. And believe me, he is really gone. I spent most of this past week wondering what the heck I got myself into, and how in the world B ever got me to agree to be Santa for the CATS-R-US pet photo day at Petsmart. It wasn’t as bad as I expected, mainly thanks to my wonderful elves, pictured with me here. I must say that without my lovely elves printing those photos and keeping the customers happy, we would not have survived the day. Oh, yeah, wifey poo and Jeremy helped too. But, where would a good Dragon Claws be without his elves?

I am very thrilled that Pet People regular O’Malley, AKA Shannon, came to have her family portrait made with dear ole Dragon. As you can see in the other picture here, she has beautiful daughters. And Rocky was happy to see us and was much better behaved than Shannon tells us he is. Maybe he was just on his best behavior since he wanted to be sure that Santa brings him all the treats on his list.

It made me all warm and fuzzy that at least one of our Pet People fanatics came to have their picture made with Dragon. Oh, sure, the weather was horrible. So what? True fanatics don’t let such things concern them. Believe me, we had all manner of pets brave the rain to have their picture made with me, including cats. But, Pam, did you come? Or you Sandy? You could have brought your wounded Peanut for some much needed holiday cheer. Shame on all of you for abandoning your Dragon this way, when he stepped up to the plate to help the homeless cats. Where were you, Pet People???

I was saddened that Doris, the Great Dane, was too big of a sissy girl to come in the door. Poor Ginger tried, and both of them got soaked, but maybe Doris was too afraid of the evil fire breathing Dragon to come inside. I was proud to have my first picture of the day taken with Farland the Pig, Barbara Bear, and the Spider, all three decked out in UT orange. Thanks to Skeeter’s mom and dad for being so much fun and braving the torrential downpour and slick roads to have their stuffed animals photographed with Dragon.

Now, let’s get down to the nitty gritty. Let’s just say that Dragon Claws really enjoyed the scenery, and I don’t mean the dogs. First of all, I had no idea that so many women in Clarksville do not wear bras. And for the ones that did wear them, I saw much black sheer and black lace. I just knew I would see a red lace bra, but no, I was disappointed. I must thank the many young women that came out and joined me in thong wearing. Of course, mine was green and white, but most of those that I saw were solid colors--black, white, and red. Oh yes, there was even one leopard print. I guess more people enjoy thong wearing than I ever imagined.

Oh yes, I wasn’t there just to seek out new wenches for my lair, I was actually raising money for the shelter, too. I think our total for the day was $375. Not too shabby, considering the weather. Maybe next year I’ll just give them the money, and save someone the humiliation of wearing that suit.

Santa Dragon, you looked very comfortable on your throne. What a pro! I hope you came away doggy hair and drool free.
Doris made it to the foyer but could not get past a Sharpai and another dog who was just sitting there. And then those doors kept opening and closing. Ugh!
Alice, do you usualy blog at 2am? Mittens and I are now both sick. He is undoubtedly very cute when he sneezes. I do not feel cute.

Thank you Thank you Thank you dear brother for all the sweet kitties and doggies that you helped by being Santa Paws. We truly did intend to come out to see you you but our human babies needed us so we had to go to Murfreesboro to babysit them. This came up at the last minute so I have to call Suzanne to let her knw too cause we were going to go to the yard sale as well. I guess we'll zip over there a few minutes today to see how all is going. Sure hope they made a haul! Again you looked great and I know you did a terrific job!

Me thinks Dragon's new name will have to be The Pink Dragon. Is it only my computer screen that is giving Dragon's beard a pink tinge, a pink tinge that matches his pink lair sheets? :)

You make a great Santa, and I for one think you need to do this ever year, as a Dragon tradition. Once the word spreads that the might Dragon is offering his lap to wenches far and wide, you'll have them lining up at the door!

As for me, you all know how far away I live from PetSmart and I have promised myself I will NEVER EVER go to PetSmart, WalMart, etc. on a SATURDAY. I tried that not too long ago and I was traumatized. I HATE crowds and lots of people, especially on a Saturday when there are little screaming and crying children all over the place like locusts.

Besides, I was home dragging out a Christmas tree and a few other decorations to make my house a bit festive for next weekend. I also delved into a little baking, along with some other long-neglected chores.

yay Dragon!

You were an awesome Santa! And Wifey Poo was the perfect elf. We love our picture we had made. Thank you Stacey for taking the additional pic too. Can you email me a copy of that? And a great big YAY also goes out to B and Jeremy. I saw them both working hard at the yard sale and Jeremy was a master at getting those pet pics done.

Dragon, I think Rocky was intimidated by you. Maybe he saw a few of your scales poking thru haha. Could this be the key to his bahavior problems at home? Maybe in order for him to accept ME as the Alpha dog, I must don a red Santa suit of some sort. Maybe I can borrow yours after Christmas?

Sandy, we must have had great timing because we walked in and immediately had our pic done. We even walked around the store for a bit after that without bumping into people. I was very glad it wasn't swamped when we went because I had never taken wild man Rocky there before. I was very worried how he would act if it was crowded. But, he did put on quite a show and pretended he was mannerly the whole time we were there. If only I could get him to act like that at home!

Yes, Ginger... we keep strange hours her at our house, thanks to the professor's work hours. It looks like we went to be just a few minutes before YOUR post was logged.

Hope you and Mittens feel better soon!

Oh, Alice, you are so right. Sugar plums were the least of his thoughts. Take note of the placement of the Dragon's scaly hand in the elf photo. I guess that is what they mean by Dirty Santa. And, he kept enticing the cute little girly girl pet owners to have their picture made with their dog and Santa. I'm surprised he wasn't asking the little girls if they wanted some candy.

Shannon, I'm glad you liked your photo. I will send you the two I took with my digital camera. I will also scan the one of myself and Santa Dragon and email it to the Pet People. I am so mad at myself that I didn't get Smokey out of the car to have his picture made with Daddy Dragon. Skeeter, your mom took some pics with her camera of Farland and Dragon Santa, so you'll have to be sure to share them with us. I'd love to have that one. I didn't get my camera out until later in the day, so I missed that shot.

Awww, dragon, you make a supa-sexy santa, especially with the thought of the Jets attire underneath.

Remember Santa, you were there to HELP the less fortunate kitties of the world, not for Santa-gratification. tsk! tsk! No cookies for you!

Shannon, your daughters are beautiful like their mommy and Rocky looks like he may be being abused by Santa. I think Santa was choking him to hold him there, just to keep 3 attractive women around him. Hmmmm.......

Daisylouu, It was for scientific purpose only. This was merely research to benefit mankind. I didn’t seek or expect to receive any gratification what so ever. But I am a mere Dragon, powerless to resist the allure of the beautiful young women. In fact, I found myself propositioned several times by the attractive girly girls with their precious pets. Also, I was not choking Rocky at all. He happily sat next to Santa Dragon. I think the three young maidens with Rocky would have stayed longer with me, if they had their way.

Alice, Don’t be deceived by my disguise. The red suit and beard merely covered my scales, but they are still there and I am still blowing smoke. I am still Dragon Scrooge.

Yes, Alice, there was definitely more than sugar plums dancing through my head. Thank you for the kind words.

Ginger, but even though I looked good on my throne, it certainly wasn’t comfortable. More padding was needed. It’s a good thing I brought my orange and white comfy UT chair to relax in when no puppies were waiting to sit in my lap. I just had a thought. Might have to nudge wifey poo into getting me a green and white chair this year. To more properly match my favorite attire.

Pam, if you are my sister, and you had to go baby-sit the human children, what does that make them to me? My cousins, my nephews, my nieces, what???

Sandy, yes my beard is looking a little pink. It was a little too yellow, and someone got to playing with the color filters in the picture program. Then, after 45 minutes trying to get the elves’ picture to post, we took whatever we could get. Pink or yellow, it didn’t matter. I was determined that the world needed to see me and my prettiest elves.

The Dragon Claws being a yearly tradition does have great potential, but there is some definite tweaking that would have to happen first.

Sandy, you need to get over the “I live way out in the country and don’t want to make the long drive to town” bit. It really isn’t that far. You make it sound like you live in timbukto or someplace. YOU DON’T! It is your crutch to keep yourself from doing stuff or participating in certain things.

Baking?? Baking?? Sandy, remember, your oven runs a little cold. Some slight adjustments must be made to the recipes.

Dear sweet Shannon O’Malley. I was so touched that you and your family came to have your picture made with the Dragon Claws. I was expecting all of my wenches to come and join me, but no! They abandoned me. But, not sweet Shannon and her blond beauties. Thank you and your daughters so much for braving the rain and wrestling Rocky. Even though he was such a good boy.

Shannon, was Wifey poo an elf??? I didn’t realize, since she looked nothing like my other elves. And Shannon, I will be happy to take you shopping for your own Santa suit. There is a store in the mall that sells special Santa outfits, just for lovely ladies like you.

Daisylouu,
you're so sweet. My daughters got a kick out of having the picture done. And now that you mention it...Maybe Santa was choking Rocky, he was breathing kind of hard...or was that Dragon Claws breathing hard? haha

Dragon..was wifey poo not an elf? I guess I was so mesmerized by the "supa-sexy santa"..(sorry daisylouu-that was so good I had to steal it!) that I was seeing extra elves. Or are you being sarcastic and I am just not getting it? Hmmm...in the excitement of the moment I guess I know that the most beautiful and wonderful wifey poo was there but I truly don't recall if she was an elf. The sight of Santa in all his glory mingled with the thought of Rocky jumping on a small child and knocking him to the floor had me struggling to keep my train of thought. I will try harder to pay attention next time.

If the special Santa suit has that kind of affect I say we should all visit the store in the mall. Maybe Dragon Claws can help us all make our selections!

One thing is for sure about Sandy.....it's not the length of travel that she moans about (although I would), it's the CROWDS this time of year!! We both got the gene that hates shopping and hates crowds.

Perhaps on my next visit to Tennessee, Dragon would wear that red suit and allow me to sit on his lap...Christmas in July?

A big whopping slap on the back for the Dragon!!! God bless and keep you and your little scaley heart! I was at the Yard Sale and didn't get to witness the photo shoot, but I was told that YOU ROCK as a Santa. God bless the elves and helpers too!
YARD SALE brought in just shy of $3000, that includes the Santa Paws. God bless Alice and O'Malley or stopping by and taking home some treasures. I am sorry if I missed anyone else from the blog, but we were busy the whole time (thank goodness!)
Now for the other news, haha. We may have to split into teams Saturday--some going up to CATS R US, and some of us going to help pack up the remains of the Yard Sale. I am supposed to call Gerta Thursday to find out. BUT--DON"T FORGET everybody, THIS SATURDAY, the PET PEOPLE march! I will post on Friday what our final plan is.

Dragon, where I live is not my crutch but my cross to bear. I really don't need an excuse NOT to do things, because if I don't want to I'll just say so. :) Believe me, I do many things you never even know about.

PetSmart, Wal-Mart, Kmart and the whole mall area is somewhere I WILL NOT GO on what I like to call "Screaming Saturdays." Not even for a Dragon!

I forgot to give a big pat on the back to my better half--and yes, he is the better half, Jeremy. It was four years ago he talked me into getting the first dog, and it's been almost a year since I got him mixed up with the whole Pet People/cats r us/humane society/anything else to do with animals mess. He's chugged along by my side--never complaining--never hesitating to pull out his wallet or lug cat liter or take Santa pictures. I am SO PROUD of him, and I am so grateful that I have someone like him and ALL MY BABIES in my life. I lub you Daddy~!

Yes thanks to all that partook in any way possible this past weekend!!! You all deserve a pat on the back....

Okay some observations here...
Dragon, where are your hands???
Shannon, is that some kind of gang sign you are making???
Is Rocky being man-handled by the mean ole Dragon with a chokehold???
And the Pink beard puts a new meaning on Black Beard for sure!
I am beginning to think that with all the wench playing the old boy has been doing lately, we are slowing turning him into a girly girl in pink….

Hey Shannon, your family portrait with the big ole Scaly one is great!

Kudos to all for your efforts in the name of the furry babies…..
Cant wait to hang out with you all next weekend!

The report from the North Pole (AKA MAdison street) is that both the young ladies who played Santas Helpers had a BLAST and loved every minute of it! I will leave there names out as I didn't ask if I could post them for the world to see, but let it be known thru out the land that these two sweeties are top of the heap!

Oh, B, I have to echo your remarks about Santa's cutie pie elves!! They were LIFE SAVERS on Saturday. If they had not been there to run the photo printing operation, swapping out the memory cards, picking out the best shot, getting those contrary picture frames to cooperate, etc..... We would not have made it. It was all I could do to wrangle dogs and keep Santa Dragon's suit and hat and beard in place. There is no way I could have done the photo part. ELF STACEY THANKS THEM FROM THE BOTTOM OF HER HEART!!!!

Dear brother, I can't believe that you don't realize my human babies are your great nephew and great nieces. And you did make a super Santa!
Also ya'all bear with me as I am still working on getting my Christmas cards out. Will try to get them out before New Year's at least,ha.

Pam, I do get confused about the nephew, nieces, cousins, uncles and aunts. There are so many known family members running around I can’t keep up with them all. So if I wasn’t sure of the relationship among the family tree I just called them cousin. Then I found my long lost sister here on the blog. Well all I can say is I need a playbook to keep up. I hope you told my great nieces, and great nephew, that I have never met, I said hey. The last time the family got together as a whole, there were 83 of us. Since then it has grown. then I found my sister that I didn’t know that existed and now there is all family that you have. But we have fun, don’t we sis??

Excuse the type O’s, Shadow wanted to walk on the keyboard while I was doing this.
