MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!! from Stacey

Just wanted to take a minute and wish all the Pet People a MERRY CHRISTMAS! Hey, it's not over yet, so I'm still in time. I don't know what your house was like the last couple of days, but mine has been crazy. So, I didn't have time to post this sooner. And besides, if I did, I wouldn't have Christmas pictures of Shadow to share!

As always, we had stockings for the babies this morning. Shadow really enjoyed all her new toys and even shared some with her brother Ranger (the other indoor cat). They have almost played with each other, but they somehow manage to stop before they really get carried away. I think they will be good buds, but it is going to take time. She gets closer and closer to Lucy (the youngest dog) every day. Without being forced to, that is. Lucy wants to play with Shadow so badly, she can hardly stand it. But, she is being very patient and not pushing the issue. She just observes.

I was amazed with Shadow tonight. Dragon's kids and the grandkids came over for dinner. I wasn't sure how she would react to a houseful of people, especially with a 5 and a 7 year old running around. She was right in the middle of everything, all night. The boys had ray guns making loud noises and she never left the room. In fact, most of the time, she was right in the middle of us in the floor, with all the bags and wrapping paper everywhere. Naturally, she had to investigate an empty gift bag. And the box! You can spend a fortune on the coolest cat toys in the history of the world, and what will the cat go to??? The dadburn cardboard box!! Never fails.

I had trouble deciding what Christmas pictures from today to post. There are so many cute ones. I love the one of Lucy licking her chops, waiting to see the next goodie that Daddy Dragon will pull from the stocking. And it was hard to choose from Shadow and her new toys or Shadow as the Spirit of Christmas Present. But, how can you resist a cat with bows??? Anyone that wants to see more, I can email you some. Poor Auntie Sandy is being deluged with Shadow pictures and videos. But, she asked for it.

Thanks Sandy, for giving me the best Christmas present. Dragon and I just love our little girl. She just melts your heart. That mean ole Dragon is totally wrapped around her little paw. And she knows it.

Stacy, my best Christmas present was knowning Shadow Tweety has a wonderful new home and had a wonderful Christmas! I do love all the photos and video, so keep them coming. She is where she is supposed to be; I was just the middle man! I will always be her Auntie Sandy though!

I tried to read your entire post, but when I got to the part about 5 and 7 year olds running around with ray guns carrying on I got a splitting headache and had to go take some medicine.

I am actually glad the holidays are OVER. Most people have it easier at work, but we still have to plug away, but with less people. The Boss is off for a few weeks, so HE will be taking down the tree and few decorations I managed to put up!

And I will NOT be getting on the scale for at least a month. I'm too afraid!

Merry Christmas to all the Pet People who've made this a fun place to hang out and talk with others as crazy as I am over the pets in our lives!

Thanks for the update on Shadow. I'm so glad she is happy and doing well. It is so nice to have an affectionate cat, I share my home with 3 cats, of which only one is truly affectionate. She is 15 and I can truly say that she has been the single most consistant thing in my life.

And all my pets enjoy the wrapping almost as much as the gift. My cat Lily had the most ridiculous time batting a bow around the floor....and pouncing on a sheet of wrapping paper.

The good thing about pets is I can talk baby-talk and squeal forever. My 19 year old daughter doesn't much appreaciate it anymore, ha ha.

It must be nice to be able to have bows and ribbons on your Christmas presents and leave them under the tree. We have to wait till just before our grand kids get here then put the bows and ribbons on otherwise Miss Brittany will chew on ever last one of them. She always manages to get a few even though we wait till the last minute to put them on that lttle stinker.
On affection, all three tolerate it but Brittany is the only one who will give me kitty kisses back. She is also my biggest snuggler too. Courtney loves to lay by me in the chair each night and she has to have her chin rubs and she sometimes will lay by me in the bed. Penelope also like to lay by me in the chair but only when it's her idea and she really has to be in the mood. They are all strong in thier personalities.

I have not met Shadow but have met Roxy and can say she IS a sweet heart! LOL Alice....

What is Christmas without furry babies to play in the wrappings and mess in the floor?
We had to put my parent’s fur babies in a room away from the gang on Christmas day! They were best away from the 3 year old as well as the 24 pounding set of human feet roaming about the house! Pep the Maine coon was the only one that seem to want to get into the middle of the mess. The Saint and I would check in on them occasionally and he wanted out so badly... One of my brothers had his little dog with them and she was cute as can be. Big Daddy plays gags gifts on all and one was a squeaking chicken. She took it out of the hand of the receiver and claimed it for her own! She played with that thing all day long! No one could get near her or she would growl protecting her chicken! Was so funny to watch her. One time the 3 year old tried to get it from her and when she growled at him, he growled back. Was cute but a bit scary when he put his face near her with growls. No mishaps though.... And one brother got an obnoxious machine gun as a joke and the little one ended up with it so I can hear your ray gun sounds Stacey! The Saint wanted to give the little one a drum set to piss daddy off…LOL… The little ones both furry and human were adorable on Christmas Day!!!!

After the gang all departed, we let the furry ones out and Pep went straight for the little toy we gave him! Later on, I found him under the tree snoozing with his little turtle toy by his side! Was so cute. The other two kind of checked out all the out of place furniture we had moved around. But all was normal in no time at all. Funny how those babies can adapt so quickly once taking inventory!

Thanks for the Party House Sandy! From Pam getting locked in the bathroom, to Brett tearing your house apart… We had a blast and it was indeed another successful Pet People get together! The Saint really did want to take Peanut home with us! I told him that if we could not have Roxy (Alice new baby) that we could not have Peanut either!
Do yall realize that we had so much fun chatting it up that we never played Gestures this go round??? Wow, we can have some fun cant we…..

I'd like for it to be known thru out the land that Sandy lives in a defective structure that lures people into a false sense of security before it comes apart under your feet! I was framed!

B, I am SO glad you did that in the door jamb! I have done that at least 5 times and The Boss keeps saying "If you would just PICK UP your feet when you walk," blah, blah, blah!

I told him at some POINT your toe is on the ground before you spring off it, and if you are at that spot when you do that, you can pull it up, becuase it obviously is not secured correctly!

Pick my feet up? What, he wants me to march like a Russian soldier?

So thank you B for proving that it's not just ME! LOL.

Skeeter, that squeaking chicken story reminds me of a Boss story. One day, for some reason, he actually brought home one of those rubber chickens! He saw it somwhere and thought it was funny so gave it to the dogs. Well, he HATES annoying squeaky toys and the dogs went nuts on the chicken all the time, so all you heard was SQUEAK, SQUEAK, SQUEAK, and it was LOUD.

The Boss gets a knife, grabs the chicken and cuts out the squeaker hole! They didn't like it as much but still played with it. It stayed in the yard until it wore out and disinigrated!

It was such fun having everyone here. In spring will have a fling on the deck!

Alice, I agree with you that Roxy is cuter and sweeter than Shadow. I saw Roxy when we were at Cats R Us. Wifey-pooh carried her around for a long time. Wifey-pooh wanted to bring her home. It was a good thing I put my foot down and told wifey-pooh H*** NO. Now you have Roxy and every body is happy. At Christmas I had to put bows on Shadow to dress her up and make her look cuter. Also I had to get her a pink collar with sparkles. And before any one gets off on that pink thing I Did Not Want Pink. I wanted Red but pink was all they had. I looked on e-bay to see if I could find New York Jets cat collar. That was none also.

Sandy, if B wasn’t so inebriated and had picked up his feet, it wouldn’t have happened. I know it made you happy though. Just think about it, you sober and B drunk are just alike.

Forgot...yes Adrienne, you must plan a trip in the spring! I need to put in for my vacations as well.

Oh, and Dragon, I hope Shadow doesn't read your posts.

Roxy is cuter, but I doubt she is SWEETER. She might be AS sweet and Shadow, but Shadow is nothing but a sugar baby!
